Cypriot Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance. The main strategic objectives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance for the period 2023-2025 are focused on supporting the recovery through the timely and effective promotion and implementation of important reforms and investments, which will be financed both by European funds (the Recovery Mechanism and Resilience and the European Social Fund) as well as from National resources. These aims are as follows: - Development of a framework of active employment policies with the aim of promoting the active integration of the country's working-age population into employment and the containment, fight and prevention of unemployment with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups and in particular on young people. - Further strengthening and modernization of the Public Employment Service for better service and support to citizens and employers. - Ensuring the consistently high employability of citizens, so that they adequately respond to the constantly changing needs of the labor market, through the provision of continuous training and retraining with an emphasis on digital skills. - Review and revision of the Third Country Foreigners Employment Strategy. - Reform of the Social Security System to strengthen the social protection of the self-employed and workers in new forms of employment and deepen the institutionalized social protection for all. - Revision of the pension system to ensure adequate income for pensioners and to correct chronic distortions. - Smooth operation of the recently established Minimum Wage adjustment mechanism - Introduction of legislation to regulate teleworking in the private sector with the aim of defining the rights and obligations of employees. - Supporting groups and/or individuals of the population and/or organizations with social activity - Promotion of equality and equal treatment at work. - Protection of workers' rights. - Effective treatment of undeclared work by activating an integrated computerized system to support the work of Inspectors. - Ensuring the protection of citizens' income in emergency situations. - Promoting safe, healthy and harmonious workplace conditions and practices.
